Baraja: "We want to dedicate the victory to the victims and those affected by the 'DANA'"
The coach previews the game against Real Betis
José Luis Gayà gave his analysis of a big result for Valencia CF, with their 1-0 victory over Real Madrid on LaLiga Matchday 35.
An important victory
This victory is very important. It strengthens us in taking us closer to safety. I think we will need a few more points, but we have taken a very important step forward. We have raised our level and we have learned how to play this type of game, which we had lacked throughout this season. The team are responding.
Finding a good dynamic
We started talking about 'finals' very early on and that didn't do us any good. We didn't know how to handle those kinds of games, but the team learned and we managed to find a good dynamic. We knew that Real Madrid were going to give everything. Nothing was kept in reserve and they pushed to the end. We gave everything that we had. Mestalla appreciated that and gave everything they had. I am very happy about it.
Mestalla
We and the fans pushed ourselves, above all. With that good start to the game, we drew the fans in. In other games we have lacked coming out with that intensity. We were like this from the beginning. The team held up well, were able to defend and Giorgi was spectacular. We have all done a great job.
A good start
The start was very good. It's a shame not to have scored early, but in the end the reward came. The team defended well. With the sending off for Vinicius we should have taken a step forward, but we were on the limit.
Needing more points
With 40 points I think it will be difficult to stay up. We are going to Mallorca to win. It's going to be a nice match. We have been able to compete and enjoy these matches. It's not done yet and we need to finish the job.
