Gayà makes 150th LaLiga appearance

José Luís Gayà hit another milestone with Valencia CF with his appearance against Huesca this past Sunday. The fullback has now played 150 LaLiga matches with Valencia CF. The Spanish international, who will only turn 24 years old at the end of this month, started at El Alcoraz stadium and played the entire 90 minutes of the 2-6 victory.
His debut in the Primera División came on April 27th, 2014, when the then coach of Valencia CF, Juan Antonio Pizzi, chose him in his first XI for a match against Atletico Madrid at Mestalla. That over a year after his official bow for the team, in the Copa del Rey against UE Llagostera on October 30th, 2012, when he was just 17 years old.
Since then, Gayà has gone on to become one of the club captains and one of the cornerstones of the side under Marcelino García Toral. In the second half against SD Huesca, with regular skipper Dani Parejo subbed off, he wore the captain's armband for the latest occasion.
