Valencia CF's game against SD Eibar this past Sunday will be remembered for the return of fans to Mestalla for the first time in 442 days.
José Vicente Cavero was the first Valencianista to go through the gates of the stadium upon its reopening, two hours before kickoff. The day coincided with his 20th birthday.
"I don't have the words to describe this moment. Today is my 20th birthday, and what better gift could there be than to be here at Mestalla as the first Valencianista back at this wonderful stadium, after so long?" he told VCF Media.

"If on February 29th, 2020, in the game against Real Betis, I was told that we would go just over a year without coming here, I wouldn't have believed it."
"Many previous games came to mind; many moments and anecdotes, comments from people around me and the section where I used to sit. I've been a member for many years and at 20 years old I've spent my entire life as a Valencia CF fan. It's wonderful to be back here again. "
