The midfielder Valencia CF scored a goal and celebrated with Diego López remembering the victims of the DANA
Before the regional derby against Villarreal CF kicked off, Valencia CF continued their 'Sempre Falles' initiative with the presentation of a new 'Ninot' figurine. The programme, in conjunction with the Ayuntamiento city council, sees the club create special souvenirs for each visiting side at Mestalla this season.
Valencia CF president Anil Murthy presented the president of Villarreal CF, Fernando Roig, with a composition made up of a submarine -in honor of the affectionate nickname by which the awy team are known- accompanied by two fish with the Valencia CF and Villarreal CF kits, playing with a ball. The Ninot was created by Ceballos&Sanabria from Valencia.
This Ninot takes on added significance, as Villarreal also traditionally celebrates the Fallas festivities -postponed this year and last year. March is normally the time of year in which the celebrations begin, but the Covid-19 pandemic has forced another change of plan.
