Escoles VCF project presented by Valencia CF president Anil Murthy

A new season for the initiative was inaugurated at Mestalla

The opening presentation for the Escoles VCF project for 2021/22 was celebrated on Wednesday at the Mestalla VIP Box, and Valencia CF president Anil Murthy made a speech to introduce the plans for the season. This campaign, four new institutions raise the number of affiliated schools to 41.

ANIL MURTHY’S SPEECH:

“Before, we talked about the Valencia CF project of the future. People expected the VCF Academy to be just words, but today, 12 of the 25 players in our squad are from the youth system.  We are going to continue with this policy, because it is very important for the future and we want the best players in the region here at Valencia CF.

You have this relationship with us and we want the best players here. At the VCF Academy we train players with the aim of them reaching the first team and becoming stars, but in the end not all of them succeed. Some do not end up turning professional, but we develop them as people as well. We have courses at Mas Camarena and we invest in people. We can give many examples. Ferran Torres, for example, is a star at Manchester City and for the Spanish national team. He is a player who was trained at the VCF Academy. In the Spain team for example, we have five players who came up through the VCF Academy.

What we want, with this relationship that we have with you through the Escoles VCF project, is to work together to get the best players, and at Valencia CF they will make their dreams come true. I want to thank you for your commitment to us; we are going to share our methodology and we are going to increase the level of the coaches and players. We are here to work with you. We are serious people and we are going to achieve it together. Amunt Valencia CF!"
