Friendly triangular tournament of VCF Inclusivo with Special Olympics Kyoto and Levante UD EDI
This Friday at the VCF training ground, following the friendly match played this Tuesday with members of VCF Femenino C.
“Els nostres ídols: Mañó” is an exhibition paying tribute to Valencia CF legend, Daniel Mañó Villagrasa, in his hometown of Sueca. It runs through to March 13th, and celebrates the former player who turned 90 last week.
Mañó won the 1954 Copa and the 1962 & 1963 Fairs Cup with Valencia CF, part of a successful era for the club.
On his birthday, together with sons Carmen and Daniel, he received a visit from the director general of the VCF Foundation, Teo Swee Wei. The foundation's Heritage and Museum Department have organised the exhibition, together with Sueca's City Council and the VCF Footballers Association.
The exhibition is a continuation of those already organised by Valencia CF, through the VCF Foundation, as a tribute to legends. Puchades, Claramunt and Roberto Gil have been previous subjects.
Mañó was accompanied at the opening event by Teo Swee Wei, mayor of Sueca, Dimas Vázquez, the town's councilor for sports, Celia Beltrán, and Valencia CF ambassador, Miguel Tendillo. Also present were family members related Mañó, Puchades, Ibáñez, Sendra and Pasieguito.
Teo Swee Wei commented that “The VCF Foundation is the custodian of Valencia CF's heritage. Our purpose and responsibility is to share this with all Valencianistas. I invite those who have pieces of the club's history to contact the VCF Foundation to look at the possibility of collaborating with us."
“This exhibition, which remember's Mañó's class as a footballer and as a person, is a great example. The Ciudad Deportiva celebrated 30 years in February, training footballers and educating people, as well as transmitting 'Sentiment, Valentia i Germanor' in the VCF Academy."
