Mestalla brimming with emotions running high
Relive the emotional events that took place in the run-up to Valencia CF-Real Betis to pay tribute to the victims and those affected by the tragic flash floods
Following Valencia CF's fourth victory of preseason, against Levante UD, defender Thierry Correia spoke to VCF Media to review the performance. He played a part in keeping a clean sheet -one of the objectives the team had set out for the friendly derby.
"We wanted to leave here without conceding goals. We managed that, and we are very happy with the win. But there are still many things to improve," he said, noting an improved showing compared to the previous game on the summer calendar.
"We weren't up to standard against Real Zaragoza. Today we performed at a better level. What we've worked on and trained throughout the week help the games to go better," commented the Portuguese, who is aware that the target is to be as prepared as possible for the season opener against Getafe CF.
"The first game of the season is the most important that we have coming up right now. We're working with that in mind," he stated, also adding that next Wednesday's exhibition contest against AC Milan will be a good test.
"The Trofeo Naranja will be a special game, with the fans at Mestalla. We're going to work hard. I'm working hard, because I want to help the team."
