Copa memories: Beating FC Barcelona in 1954
Valencia CF's third Copa honour came in 1954, against this weekend's opponents. They beat FC Barcelona 3-0 at Chamartín, having eliminated strong sides Real Sociedad and Sevilla FC along the way.

An emblematic image from the time is of goalkeeper Quique on top of the crossbar at the end of the game, celebrating the victory.
Valencia CF had been the better side from the moment that Fuertes opened the scoring on 13 minutes. Two further goals would follow, through Badenes and a second strike from Fuertes.
