Copa del Rey Ninot designed for game against Yeclano Deportivo
With the Copa del Rey game against Yeclano Deportivo being the only meeting between the two teams this season, Valencia CF have brought the 'Sempre Falles' initiative to the Thursday night fixture at the Campo de la Constitución.
The Sempre Falles initiative, created by Valencia CF and the Ayuntamiento city council, is present at home games at Mestalla and in the Copa del Rey, giving artists the chance to showcase their work during a time of difficulty for the sector.
The latest figurine has been created by José Luis Platero from Valencia, who says that "The Ninot represents two players. One is a Valencia CF player, and the other is a Yeclano player. It's from the moment in which they take to the pitch and line up in the centre. What I wanted to represent was the tradition present in football and the tradition of Fallas. The Ninots are made using the 'cartónpiedra' method, which is an old way of making models that isn't used anymore. I wanted to use it to represent the traditions of football and Fallas."
