Mestalla brimming with emotions running high
Relive the emotional events that took place in the run-up to Valencia CF-Real Betis to pay tribute to the victims and those affected by the tragic flash floods
The day before his side play CD Leganés, Albert Celades spoke to the media at the Ciudad Deportiva.
The game against CD Leganes
"The responsibility that you have at Valencia CF is very high. We knew what team we were coming to: A club with very high demands. We always want to win, and that's the idea that we have in mind when facing games. Even though Leganés have yet to claim a point, they have competed well in every game and deserve more than what they have."
Changing formation
"We work to set up for each game in the best way possible. We don't think of things in the long term, but rather want to give the players the best context for facing each individual game."
Possible rotations
"We have a very packed calendar and we need everybody to be available and willing to help the team."
The fans
"It's important to win, for everybody. From coming here playing for the away team, I know how important the fans are, and how important it is that they get behind the team. When Mestalla is like that, away teams find it uncomfortable and difficult. We know that the unity between the fans and the team is important to us getting a better final result. I think that the most important thing here is the players, in my opinion, and these players need the support of the fans. I think that if we have that unity between players, fans and everybody else who wants to get the best performance out of the team, it's much better and much easier to be at our best."
CD Leganés
"I think that Leganes are a brave side, who are capable of pressing high -as they did in their recent games and with Pellegrino last year. They alternate high pressing with mid-low pressing. They aren't a team who defend on the edge of the box. We are working hard and continuing with our task of trying to prepare our games in the best way possible, with as many options as possible and the best resources we can. We remain on that path."
