Canós: “I was born a Valencia CF fan”
Valencia CF's new forward, Sergi Canós, spoke on Monday at his official presentation.
His passion for Valencia CF
It is a very exciting day, and nice to be able to share it with my family. It's a very happy day and I have no words to describe it. I was born a Valencia CF fan. Since I was born, my father put the shirt on me, he bought us shares in Valencia CF and we also went to the Valencia CF Penya in Nules.
We were always looking forward to the weekend and watching the games together. Valencia CF is very important in my life.
His arrival in the transfer window
The summer has been very long for everyone, but the communication with Layhoon, Corona and Javier Solís has been very important to my signing, as well as the effort they have made to bring me here.
The communication between us has been key. They have always made it clear to me that they wanted me to come. Now, the important thing is that I'm here and I'm sure we're going to have a great season. I had a very clear idea and it was to come here; anything else was not part of my plans.
Valencianistas in his family
My mother was a very important person to me. This summer has been very difficult and we miss her a lot. She was our motivation and I hope she is very proud of me.
His debut at Mestalla
It is unimaginable what it's going to be like. It is spectacular for my family and me. My best memory at Mestalla is a spectacular goal scored by Killy González. The following moments that come with the Valencia CF shirt depend on me and I'm sure that they will be very beautiful.
His contributions on the field of play
I can contribute many things. I have been in the Premier League for several seasons, even getting promoted to the top flight, and I want to be important at Valencia CF. I can be comfortable on both flanks, even as a striker in a 4-4-2 formation.
Ruben Baraja
The first feeling with him has been very good. He communicates a lot, I really like his intensity and how he pushes us. I am very happy to be playing under him.
Remaining fit
It hasn't been one of my best preseasons because I haven't played much and the stress of these months in the transfer market months has had a lot of influence. Nevertheless, I have been getting in shape and now I am under the orders of Baraja and pushing to the fullest.
His aims at the club
The objective must be made clear, which is to win the next match against Osasuna and for the fans to see the best Valencia CF possible.
Valencia CF's situation. The important thing is Sunday's game. I'm here and we're going to enjoy Valencia CF a lot.
Advice to children who dream of playing for Valencia CF
I too have been a child. I would tell them to enjoy playing football and not to think about anything else. I am lucky to be here and to fulfill a dream, and I accept this great responsibility to do as well as possible.
