Baraja: “It was a very complete game and we are happy with the result”

Valencia CF coach Rubén Baraja spoke after his side beat Sevilla FC 1-2 on the road, on the opening matchday of the LaLiga season.
Assessment of the game
It was a very complete team performance. We were able to maintain the intensity and rhythm that we had to have in the game and withstood some situations that arose when it was 1-1 and Sevilla pushed. We have to be very happy with the result and the effort; we took a big reward at a very difficult ground, against a Sevilla that push a lot. We are happy with the result.”
Reinforcements
I still think the same as I thought after the Trofeo Naranja, and my opinion hasn’t changed. We had a good game but the season is long and demanding.
Now, after the victory, I still think that we need to strengthen in positions and the club are working on it. I still think the same way. It is what we need to achieve the goal we set for ourselves. The market is open and I hope we can reinforce the team where we need.
Diakhaby’s midfield role
Diakhaby's position tonight was because this type of match, against opponents who play directly and demand a lot of you on the second ball, with a lot of crosses, means you need energy on the inside and to be consistent in the midfield, and with Diakhaby and Pepelu we found that.
They complemented each other very well and have been very consistent to provide the stability that the team needed, and then they had the fortune to score the goal. Diakhaby had a very complete game and I'm happy for him because he earned us 3 very important points.
The transfer market
We have already analysed it and learned about the situation for the team, and the club know the needs that we have. I hope that this transfer market gives us the possibility of strengthening up top and on the wings, with players who give competition to those who are here now. Even though we had a very good game, the season is long, with injuries and penalties and we need reinforcements. We hope it happens.
Rafa Mir
I am not going to talk about players who belong to other clubs.
