Corberán: “It’s time to compete and to give our all”
The coach looks ahead to the game against Deportivo Alavés
Ricardo Arias is one of the most qualified people in the world to talk about Valencia CF. The legendary centre back, who holds the record for the most seasons at the club, spoke to VCF Media this week to look at the team’s recent performances.
The club ambassador wanted to particularly highlight the role of the captains, with three (José Luis Gayà, Jaume Domènech and Carlos Soler) having come up through VCF Academy teams and showing great understanding of what it means to belong to Valencia CF.
“Look at what these kids are doing. They are Valencians, our captains, our homegrown players... Three of our four captains are from Valencia. It's brilliant,” said Arias.
“They are handling this with a level of character that really shows what Valencians and Valencianistas are all about. I'm eternally grateful for what they are doing. Do you know what the best thing will be, for those who come in from now on? The example that is being set. They are implanting a spirit, a style, a way of playing and a way of identifying with Valencia CF that everybody who comes in should feed off.”
