Cirilo Amorós and his family connection with the city of Valencia and RCD Espanyol
With the valencianista side he won seven regional titles
Spain played at Mestalla for the first time since 2005 this Saturday, in a game won 2-1 by the hosts. The match venue was chosen to coincide with Valencia CF's Centenary, and club president Anil Murthy welcomed RFEF president Luis Rubiales, Norwegian Football Federation president Terje Svendsen, and Valencia Sports Councillor Mayte Girau to the stadium, hosting them in the Presidential Box.
Mr. Murthy said that "it is an honour to host the Spanish and Norwegian national teams for this international game, amidst the celebration of our Centenary. This game is a new milestone in the history of Mestalla and Valencia CF. We are happy to be marking the first 100 years of the club."
He went on to give the respective presidents the Official Centenary Book, whilst Rubiales handed over a Spain shirt with the number 10 on the back.
