On Tuesday at 2pm CET, the Valencia CF Juvenil A side take o LOSC Lille at the Antonio Puchades. The game is of the utmost importance for the youth team, who want to pick up the 3 points and continue to have a chance of going through to the next round of the UEFA Youth League.
Coach Miguel Ángel Angulo is optimistic about the game, as he told VCF Media.
“The unity that the group have is going to be key against the French side. We are very motivated and excited, and I know that the players are going to do everything possible to fight for the win. It's going to be a very tactical game, in which effectiveness in the opposition area will be definitive," he explained.
Angulo added that "LOSC Lille stand out for their physical presence. They are an organised side who are going to look to hit on the counter. We didn't deserve to lose away to them, but we weren't clinical enough in front of goal. They, on the other hand, scored with their only shot on target. This Tuesday we will have to be very focused and not make mistakes. I believe in my players and I'm convinced that we are going to win."
The team have a point to their name after an opening match draw against Chelsea in London. Following that, they lost 3-5 at home to AFC Ajax and suffered an undeserved 1-0 defeat to Lille. However, their fate will still be in their own hands if they can win consecutive home games this week and on November 27th against Chelsea.
Angulo will be without the suspended Hugo Guillamón, but will have the rest of his side available for Youth League action on Tuesday.
