‘Amstel Mascletà Taronja’ pyrotechnics turn Valencia sky orange
The Valencia sky was bathed in orange this Monday afternoon, as a special 'mascletà' was held in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento. A total of 303kg of pyrotechnic material was set off to mark the Centenary.
The work of fireworks expert José Manuel Crespo, the ‘Amstel Mascletà Taronja’ lasted just over 6 minutes, and was watched by Valencia CF president Anil Murthy, as well as club legends such as Mario Alberto Kempes, Claudio López, Ricardo Arias, Amedeo Carboni and Miguel Tendillo, from the balcony of the city hall.
To conclude the event, personalised 'masclet' firecrackers, featuring names of the current Valencia CF squad members and former players who have made the most appearances for the club, were set off. The list of players was some 100-strong, to mark the 100-year history of Valencia CF.
