Fran Vivó and José Antonio Moratal are two Valencia CF fans who suffer from ALS, and Valencia CF invited them to the match at Mestalla against Atletico Madrid.
They and their families were able to enjoy an exciting game and cheer on the team. Valencia CF president, Anil Murthy, also met them, handing over personalised shirts on behalf of the club.
In addition, Salvador González “Voro”, Valencia CF's Organisation Director, Miguel Tendillo, VCF Ambassador, and first team players Hugo Guillamón also spoke with them after the match.
María Vivó, Fran's family member: “For us, it means a lot to be at Mestalla. Fran has been the number one Valencianista all his life. For Fran, this is a gift; he was very excited to be able to come back to the stadium."
José Antonio Moratal added that “It is a wonderful initiative. It has been a tremendous joy to be able to return to a place I consider my home."
On November 3rd, Valencia CF, VCF Femenino and the VCF Foundation participated in the launch of the “Valencian Sport against ALS” campaign, an initiative established by the Luzón Foundation (www.deportexela.com) and the Grupo de Gerentes de Grandes Clubes Deportivos y Sociales, joined by numerous clubs, federations and athletes from the Valencia region.
The campaign, which takes place throughout November, wants to give visibility to people affected by ALS, increasing awareness and raising funds for research.
