Meet some of the Valencia CF players who have competed in the U-21 European Championship with Spain
Juan Mata and César Tárrega, the most recent scorers in this prestigious international tournament
Valencia CF director general Mateu Alemany talked to the media at the Copa del Rey pre-match dinner, held in Seville's fantastic Real Alcázar gardens.
The atmosphere before the final
"There is already an atmosphere on the streets, and it's going to be something extraordinary. The atmosphere for a final always is, but with the Valencia CF fans it is going to be even more so. I'm expecting it to be very special in the Fan Zone, as there is an amazing excitement about things. In terms of the team, we are very happy in Jerez, and with the fact that we have arrived early to get acclimatised to the temperature."
"The atmosphere is different to what we experienced last week. In that one game we approached things with a sense of obligation, because we couldn't afford to slip up in Valladolid. Here, we face the game with enormous excitement, knowing what it would mean to win a trophy and how necessary it is for this club. That's what I'm sensing in the hours before the game."
FC Barcelona's low morale
"I'm not going to trust in that. I know that FC Barcelona are LaLiga champions, Champions League semifinalists and the clear dominant force in the Copa del Rey in recent years. In this sense, there is no overconfidence. The important thing for me is that Valencia CF come into this one with good morale and in good shape physically. FC Barcelona haven't been able to beat us this year. We've drawn twice, and that means that we've stood up to them before."
