Corberán: “It’s time to compete and to give our all”
The coach looks ahead to the game against Deportivo Alavés
Young talent Pedro Alemañ renewed his contract on July 3rd, and was given a starting role for Valencia CF in their preseason friendly against Levante on Saturday. Already an important part of the Juvenil squad in the UEFA Youth League last season, he continues to progress at the club.
Alemañ spoke to VCF Media after the game to give his thoughts on his unofficial debut.
"In the end, it's the dream of every youth team player to get minutes with the first team. We enjoyed it a lot. Now we have to keep going, and see if we can keep getting more and more minutes. I want to thank the whole team for the welcome they've given me, and the coach for having confidence in the young players and giving them the opportunity to play. I'm very happy," he said.
"The club work very well with the youth system. There are a lot of VCF Academy players playing. Several of us featured in the first half today. There are some who are regulars in the first team now. It's a good sign, and we have to keep that going.
"Every VCF Academy player needs to see that there is confidence in them, and an opportunity to show what they are capable of doing at this level. We were up against Levante, a Primera División side, and I think that this is the aim for every VCF Academy player. If you get a chance, then it's good for everyone," concluded the teenager.
