Valencia CF coach Carlos Corberán held a press conference to preview the LaLiga game against Real Betis.
Assessment of the current situation
The team's reality hasn't changed; we have a high demand for results and we're working to achieve them.
Guido Rodríguez's position on the pitch
Guido gives us many options; he can play alongside any of the midfielders we have.
Guido Rodríguez's contract
I don't focus on negotiating contracts, but rather on trying to get the most out of each player. He's very eager to help, and has a wealth of experience and knowledge of LaLiga. He's trained well throughout the week without any issues, and both he and Unai Núñez will be in the squad.
The approach against Real Betis
They're a fantastic team, as the LaLiga standings demonstrate. They finished 4th in the Europa League and are into the quarterfinals of the Copa del Rey. Their last home matches were against Feyenoord and Villarreal CF, and they won both of those. It's going to be a demanding game. We have our own identity and our own style of play. We have to play with the greatest mentality to compete in the match and focus on giving our all.
The transfer market
The transfer window is still open, and when there's a game in the middle of it all, you always have to be open to any possibility or circumstance. We've filled all three squad spots that we had open; the negative point has been Diakhaby's injury. The bulk of our transfer activity is done, but nothing can be ruled out until the transfer window closes.
The need to improve results
We wanted to strengthen the squad to be more competitive, and we've brought in two players due to Diakhaby's injury. The situation hasn't changed; we have to approach each match head-on to be the best Valencia CF we can be and try to get the three points. The situation remains the same.
Players available against Real Betis
There are no last-minute absences. Foulquier is available for selection, and so is Copete.
The dressing room mood
I see the dressing room as being as united as ever. We're all together, and we all feel the same pain. We're focused on winning matches, and have the need to get victories. This is what we want and desire. We are focused, committed, and united.
The Copa del Rey match against Athletic Club
What I say is not just a cliché, it's the reality: The match we have now is against Real Betis. It's the most important one right now. We're going to Seville with that mentality. Once it's over, there won't be another match more important than the next one. It's a week with three games to play, and it's good news that we have midweek games because iit means we're involved in several competitions.
Assessment of the opposition
Their style is based on possession, playing out from the back, and attacking using good positioning. But they have different approaches, such as transitions. They have wingers who push forward, a very deep-lying striker, and when they win the ball back, they spread out. We like to identify these aspects, discuss them with the squad, and work on them to implement our own game. We must attack well in good positions, not force things so as not to enable counter-attacks from the opposition, and be prepared for all aspects of the game.
