Valencia CF resume its activities in Africa with the VCF Camp Morocco

More than 100 participants in a VCF Camp in Casablanca in collaboration with the Real Morocco Academy

In Europe, America, Asia, and now once again in Africa. Valencia CF resume its activity in Africa in 2025 with the first edition of the VCF Camp Morocco, held in May in Casablanca with over 100 children participating.

“In every sense, it was a very positive experience, because the kids were eager to learn and absorb our identity. Both the children and players, as well as the Real Morocco Academy’s Sporting Management, showed a great attitude and a strong desire to learn,” explained Jordi Burdeos, a coach from the VCF Academy who attended the VCF Camp Morocco in person at the Kahrama Central California facilities in Casablanca.

MORE THAN 100 PARTICIPANTS

A total of 112 participants, aged between 6 and 16, enjoyed playing football while learning the methodology of the VCF Academy — ranked the fourth-best in Europe for developing players to compete at the elite level, according to the CIES Football Observatory (+ INFO).

“For a first edition, having so many participants is remarkable,” Burdeos emphasized. “It’s true that we work with different cultures and different methodologies, but we saw real progress in the players and teams in terms of training structure, understanding the game more globally… and there was clear improvement from the first to the last day,” he noted.

A STRONG RELATIONSHIP

With this VCF Camp Morocco, carried out in collaboration with Real Morocco Academy and Nitidia Sport, Valencia CF reestablishes its presence in Morocco — a country where it once ran a VCF Academy that ceased operations following the outbreak of COVID-19 in 2020.

“It’s important to resume activity in Africa, an emerging football landscape whose national team made headlines in the last World Cup and the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). Reaching a continent like Africa, which has a rich football tradition, is essential. This partnership can be beneficial for both sides — they are a growing academy in Africa with a very promising elite section,” added Jordi Burdeos.

MOROCCAN PLAYERS IN THE VCF ACADEMY

As a point of inspiration for the 112 children who joined this first VCF Camp Morocco — and those who will participate in future editions — several Moroccan players currently in the VCF Academy serve as role models: Hamza Bellari (VCF Mestalla), Anas El Magouri (Morocco U-15 international), and Ismail El Aoud, Morocco U-17 international and recent AFCON champion with his national team.

The VCF Camps organized by Valencia CF throughout the year in various locations across America, Asia, Europe, and now Africa are part of the VCF Academy Programs, which help to expand the Valencia CF brand and the values represented by its colors worldwide.

These camps are a core component of the club’s Internationalization Strategy, aimed at fostering young talent and strengthening the global identity of Valencia CF. Thanks to this ambitious and far-reaching initiative, the club was named a finalist at the 2023 World Football Summit Awards, highlighting the global impact and innovation of its international programs.
