VCF Alevín Feminino player Aitana Gisbert will receive an award from the Valencian Generalitat regional government for her top academic marks, having finished the school year with an average of 10/10.
The 10-year-old pupil at the Esclavas SCJ school in Alcoy also travels to the Ciudad Deportiva every day to train with the team, driven by her grandfather.
This past season, the VCF Academy brought all women's teams into the same training facility as the men's first team, showing their dedication to integrating grassroots football for both sexes.
Aitana's academic success has been matched by the positive results for VCF Alevín Femenino, who recently won the Trofeo San Antonio de Benagéber, beating Villarreal 5-1 in the final and besting VCF Benjamín Femenino in the semifinals.
