Social responsibility and sustainable development at XIV Meeting of Professional Football Club Foundations

The XIV Meeting of Professional Football Club Foundations, organised by Valencia CF, the VCF Foundation and the LaLiga Foundation, concluded with the exhibition “10 years of the Valencia CF Heritage Department: Analysis and challenges in asset management,” which showed the work of the department.
Strategic management of social responsibility in a regulatory, economic, environmental and social context has been the backbone of this meeting, attended by the LaLiga Santander and LaLiga Smartbank Foundations.
Valencia CF president Anil Murthy said that "We are aware of the ability of football clubs to contribute to the improvement of society, and we must not be afraid to assume that responsibility. We have to be social references and work as a team, collaborating with public and private entities."
VCF Foundation director general,Teo Swee Wei, added that "this meeting should help us to reinforce and improve our initiatives, and to face the future working for the most suitable management of our social responsibility."
These meetings were first held in 2004 and, since then, they have taken place in various cities and venues. The shared objective has been to provide a meeting place that allows attendees to share experiences, multiply collaboration between clubs and foundations, achieve common learning and address the needs and challenges of professional football.
