Valencia CF Academy gets recognition at a sports gala
Diario Sport and LaLiga present VCF's Alevín A with an award for their behavior in last season’s LaLiga FC Futures
The II VCF Academy World Cup was won by Polisportiva Bruinese of Italy, at the end of a week in which the VCF Soccer Academies and different teams from America, Asia and Europe shared a complete training program, multicultural activities and the tournament itself.
The competition brought together 150 children from Japan, Italy, Canada, Greece, Cyprus, the Netherlands, Belgium and different parts of the USA, such as Houston, New York and Seattle.
Polisportiva Bruinese, for whom the VCF Academy is a technical partner, beat VCF Camps Holland & Belgium 3-2 in the final. In third place was unbeaten VCF Academy Cyprus.
The II VCF Academy World Cup once again showed the high level of football at each of the VCF Soccer Academies. Receiving individual trophies were Grayson Chan (VCF Academy Canada) as MVP of the tournament, Adam Gendy (VCF Academy Canada) as Top Scorer and Eduardo Cifaldi (Polisportiva Bruinese) as Best Goalkeeper. They received Puma goalkeeper gloves as gifts, as well as Puma boots and a Valencia CF shirt signed by Javi Guerra.
During Sunday, an All Stars match was also played, pitting a selection of the best players from each of the participating teams againVCF Alevín A, who reecently participated in LaLiga Promises and LaLiga Promises International competition.
In attendance for the closing ceremony and celebratory paella were Ricardo Arias and Miguel Ángel Bossio, as ambassadors for Valencia CF.
