Interview with the new VCF Mestalla centre-back
Giorgi Mamardashvili has just finished a fine season on a personal note and he is already thinking about the next one in which he will be between the posts for Valencia CF at the VCF Academy.
Giorgi Mamardashvili joins from FC Dinamo Tbilisi on a season long loan with an option to buy. He has become a fixture at Under 21 for Georgia and he boasts three UEFA Europa League appearances to his name.
“Signing for Valencia CF means a great responsibility and a brand new experience in my professional career. I know Valencia CF is big club, a historic club, with honours, the best head coaches and that they had one of best goalkeepers in Europe” said the player who back in January was included amongst the top 50 players to watch in 2021.
The 20-year-old goalkeeper is 6, 4 ft tall and describes himself as a reliable goalkeeper “and one of his role models is the German goalkeeper Manuel Neuer. Mamardashvili comes from Dinamo Tbilisi, despite having had a spell at Lokomotiv Tiflis who faced Granada CF in the UEFA Europa League qualifying round.
“About Valencia all I know is that it’s a really nice city with the best fanbase. Playing for a club like Valencia CF is really important for me”, concludes the young goalkeeper.
