Corberán: “It’s time to compete and to give our all”
The coach looks ahead to the game against Deportivo Alavés
Albert Celades analysed his home debut as Valencia CF boss following the game between Valencia CF and CD Leganés.
The heat
"It isn't easy to play a top level game in these temperatures, but we have to adapt to the situation. We are grateful to the players for the effort that they made."
Inconsistency
"We would like to be more consistent, but it's something that we're working on. It's not easy to achieve it so quickly. The effort from the players makes us believe that we will take less time to find it, as they are showing their professionalism."
Chances for Leganés
"I think that we deserved more. I would have liked to have won the game and played better in some phases of the game. We did a lot of good things, and could have scored another goal, but we need to keep improving -there is no doubt about that. We need to keep working in a normal way and try to improve everything that we can."
The first half
"We struggled a little with getting into the game, and it wasn't the start that we wanted. We improved later on, and had good phases of play. I think that we deserved more than a draw."
The fans
"We have a lot of respect for what the Valencianistas say. We are happy that they supported the team. We know that when the fans are behind the team, we are all stronger. That unity is good for the present and the future.
Guedes' performance
"We have to keep in mind that this was a very hot day, which takes its toll on some players more than others. Guedes had a good game; he didn't play in London, but he did today and offered good things to the team."
