The VCF Academy has had a successful fortnight in LaLiga Promises action, as sides were fielded both in Villarreal and Orlando as part of the Under-12s competition.
This past weekend, in the VI LaLiga Promises International tournament held in Orlando (Florida, USA), the VCF Academy participated with a mixed Infantil and Alevín team, coached by Sergio Lozano.
Losing out to eventual winners Atletico Madrid in a penalty shootout in the semifinals, the team entered the third place playoff against Villarreal -whom they beat convincingly with goals from Marc Martínez.
Before that, the team had enjoyed a positive group stage and eliminated FC Barcelona in the quarter finals. They had also taken in a great experience at the Walt Disney World facility, with team bonding and -for some- a first international competition.
The bronze medal adds to previous success at national level in LaLiga Promises, including an appearance as losing finalists in the tournament held in Villarreal just a fortnight prior.
Prestigious successes in LaLiga Promises
Always on display has been the playing style, values and determination worked on at the VCF Academy -a youth system ranked amongst the best in Europe for preparing players for the elite, according to CIES Football Observatory reports.
