Valencia CF and Fundació VCF to rebuild the football field at Sedaví municipal Sports Complex
José Francisco Cabanes, Mayor of Sedaví: “We will never forget this act of solidarity to help us rebuild our town”
Two days of medicals and fitness tests had kept the VCF players busy on Monday and Tuesday, but preseason proper for the first group back from their summer holidays got underway on Wednesday, with two training sessions at the Ciudad Deportiva.
A more fitness-based approach was planned for the morning session, whilst in the evening Marcelino Garcia Toral took the reins and work with the ball was introduced for the first time.
An intense workout was also a first chance for new signings Jasper Cillessen and Jason Remeseiro to familiarise themselves with how their teammates play, as well as what is expected of them by their coach. They, like the rest of the squad members present, were greeted by Valencia CF president Anil Murthy, who watched the second session alongside director general Mateu Alemany and sporting director Pablo Longoria.
The first team players put through their paces on Wednesday were Jaume Domènech, Jasper Cillessen, Ezequiel Garay, Rubén Sobrino, Jorge Sáenz, Jason, Álvaro Medrán, Salva Ruiz, Fran Villalba, Gabriel Paulista, Geoffrey Kondogbia, Kevin Gameiro, Mouctar Diakhaby, Francis Coquelin and Cristiano Piccini, accomapnied by VCF Academy talents Joaquín Blázquez, Javi Jiménez, Cristian Rivero, Pascu and Koba Koindredi.
