VCF Academy Canada show support for Valencia region
Coach Isma Fayos talks about the response from the North American academy
Valencia CF' LaLiga Promises coach, Sergio Lozano, called in to VCF Media Radio on Wednesday to talk about the performance of the team in LaLiga Promises Internacional, in which a combined Infantil and Alevín team placed third.
“We are very proud of the team's performance. It is a good end to the season for everyone, not only for the team but for the category in general," he explained. "It showed our level, and showed that we are among the best out there.”
Valencia CF beat Chivas de Guadalajara 2-1 in the Group Stage and took resounding victories against FC Barcelona in the quarter finals (4-0) and Villarreal CF ( 3-0) in the third place playoff.
“It was a fantastic experience, not only on a personal level for the players. It is the result of the work of many people: The players, the coaching staff, the families with their support..." said Lozano.
"These results and this mentality, recovering from a penalty shootout defeat in the semifinals to ask, that same night, about analysing Villarreal as soon as possible, is not something accidental or spontaneous. This is a habit that has been generated for many years. We have been working with these boys since they were 6 years old and we are very proud of them. It is a group with a great ability to support each other,” highlighted the coach.
