MATCH REPORT | Sevilla FC and Valencia CF Draw 1-1
Luis Rioja scored the goal for Valencia CF
Dani Parejo turns 31 this Thursday, and is spending the day with his wife and children at home during the lockdown period in Spain. He can reflect on a magnificent career so far, in which he has become Valencia CF's longstanding captain and put himself amongst the 10 players with the most appearances for the club in history.
The midfielder's birthdays as a child always had a touch of football to them, as he was invariably given a new ball each year -to be kicked around the park close to his house in Coslada. The day itself would involve celebrations on the land owned by his grandparents at Mejorada del Campo, where his relatives joined him for kickabouts.
Parejo is approaching nine years at Valencia CF, having previously played for Real Madrid, Real Madrid Castilla, Queens Park Rangers and Getafe, but has become ever-more important with each passing season. He continues to reach milestones, prove his longevity and show that he has plenty more to offer in future campaigns, with the added maturity that comes with his 31st birthday.
