Musah prepares welcome for VCF Academy World Cup

“It’s a great honour to be here in front of all these people and welcome them. And something that you know when I was a kid I was going to these tournaments and I was playing in them and now to be able to you know be in front of the kids and tell them you know welcome and stuff. It just feels great you know, it’s a great honour. 

For the kids, I remember playing tournaments like this. I think that they should just you know try to have so much fun, play as much as you can you know with your friends. These moments with your friends that you’re together, travelling together, enjoy those moments because when you’re older you’ll remember them and they will be very nice moments. So, just live in the moment, enjoy the time that you have here and have so much fun”. 

Worldwide ambassador 

This I VCF Academy World Cup will have an unbeatable ambassador: the Valencia CF and US national team player Yunus Musah, who throughout his training and professional career has also enjoyed experiences playing football in various countries such as Italy or England before joining the VCF Academy from where he broke into the first team squad. 

Previous training camp 

In addition to participating in the VCF Academy World Cup, the players from America, Asia, Europe and Africa will have the opportunity to enjoy a week of training at the Ciutat Esportiva de Paterna facilities and a football and cultural experience in Valencia learning about the Mestalla and different emblematic places of the city of Valencia. 

The I VCF Academy World Cup will promote the expansion of the VCF Soccer Programs project, giving it greater visibility and offering an unforgettable experience to the players of the VCF Soccer Academies, Technical Partners and International Alliances. This I VCF Academy World Cup was born with the aim of creating a tournament that is held every season and that grows, edition after edition, in terms of participation and image.

30th anniversary of Ciutat Esportiva 

This first edition of the VCF Academy World Cup coincides with the 30th anniversary of the Ciutat Esportiva de Paterna, which is celebrated in 2022. The different teams that participate in the tournament will be able to appreciate the new theme of the Ciutat Esportiva de Paterna and learn in depth the values ​​project carried out by the VCF Academy. 

During this time, it has not stopped growing in terms of the available resources and the improvement of the working methodology to train football players for the elite and educate the nearly 450 boys and girls who train every day on their playing pitches after the full integration of the entire women's structure in the VCF Academy and in the Ciutat Esportiva de Paterna. 

In these 30 years there are more than 100 players who, having trained at the VCF Academy, have debuted in an official match with the first team, six of them this season: César Tárrega, Cristhian Mosquera, Rubén Iranzo, Javi Guerra, Jesús Santiago Yellu and Mario Dominguez.
