Match Report: Honours even between VCF Mestalla and Fulham FC U21 in Premier League International Cup opener (0-0)

The b team had the best chances and yet again they showcased their defensive solidity.

VCF Mestalla played on Wednesday, October 5th their opening game of the Premier League International Cup which brings together 12 U21 Premiership sides against 12 sides from different European countries.

VCF Mestalla played out a 0-0 draw against London’s original football club. Miguel Ángel Angulo’s side put in a competitive performance at Craven Cottage like they have been doing in recent games in group III of Segunda Federación as they kept their fifth clean sheet in as many games with Charly in goal.

VCF Mestalla dominated during  large parts of the game held at Craven Cottage, the last bastion of old English football grounds with a 25,000-capacity crowd where the Fulham FC play their home games in the Premier League.

The b team had the best chances through César Tarragona following a corner kick which was scrambled away close to the goaline by the Fulham backline later on, Darío Serna and Mario Musy came close to scoring the opener in the second period with the latter hitting the post.

The game  between the Fulham FC and VCF Mestalla finished honours shared at Craven Cottage. The next Premier League International Cup fixture will see VCF Mestalla take on Leicester City FC this coming November 9th.
