Marta Carro: “We must have intensity, work rate, sacrifice and go all together to take all three points”
VCF Femenino captain, Marta Carro, shared her pre-match thoughts ahead of the Teika Derby which will take place on Sunday, October 10th at the Levante UD Training Ground at 11 am on Matchday 6 of Primera Iberdrola.
“It’s a game that makes the difference in our fixture list, we’re aware of the tough situation that we are in, but there is no better clash to have a watershed moment to turn the situation around.
A derby is special and you can tell in the days leading up to it and on match day as your hairs stand on end when you run out onto the pitch. Having good away performance in Buñol and taking all three points could mean making a statement and taking a step forward.
We had to pick ourselves back up from the defeat to Sevilla FC, we’re working really hard for it and we’re really looking forward to Sunday. We’ve had a tough run of fixtures and they will keep on coming, but the hard work that we’re putting in is what will take us to victory.
We have to be switched on, knowing there’s a lot at stake, remain calm, be ourselves on the pitch and eventually the positive results will come our way”.
