Baraja: "We want to dedicate the victory to the victims and those affected by the 'DANA'"
The coach previews the game against Real Betis
The Technical Director of Valencia CF, Miguel Ángel Corona, talked to the media after the defeat to FC Barcelona to address a controversial decision by the referee -who did not check a late penalty appeal for the team.
A good performance
"We had a good game and we competed well. It is true that we had difficult moments in the match, but we also had our moments".
The penalty appeal
"Unfortunately, on that last move, a corner kick was invented -because the FC Barcelona player did not touch the ball at any time. We believe that it was a manifest error in which VAR should have intervened, because that's why it was brought in."
VAR
"I haven't had the chance to go into the dressing room, but the image I saw from the box with all our players protesting is enough for me. I understand it when I see the footage, because you can't see the FC Barcelona touch the ball. It's a decision that is what VAR is there for, to resolve this type of mistake."
Keeping competing
"We believe that the best thing we can do is continue competing, but there is no doubt that this type of detail in a game hinders you and affects you. Today it prevented us from having a penalty that is an obvious chance of scoring."
Improvement from the team
"The improvement is evident since Rubén's arrival. We had a great game at home with the victory against Real Sociedad. Today we played a very intelligent game, enjoying moments of dominance and creating scoring chances. It's a pity that the ones we had weren't finished off, and that the penalty decision that was so important didn't go in our favour."
