Match Report: VCF MESTALLA snatch late win against Nffc FC B (0-1)
oselu's last-gasp goal earned VCF Mestalla the win on Matchday 2 of the Premier League International Cup
VCF Mestalla’s head coach Miguel Ángel Angulo shared his thoughts after the 2-1 home win over Atzeneta UE which sees them reclaim the first place in group VI of Tercera RFEF.
“It was an entertaining game. Both sides came out to win the game and take all three points. I think we had the best chances. We took the game to the opposition and we had more initiative although they had a few spells of dominace.
It was a top of the table clash between two sides who are going to fight all year round to be in the higher reaches of the table.
Our game plan was clear we had to keep possession and dominate the game within the game there was another mini game as well as in the second half we had to dig deep and hold out until the end against an opposition who made it tough for us until the end.
We’re coming off the back of a tough three game streak in a congested week and there’s mental fatigue around the team. Stringing wins together is a significant demand.
The players are happy because they know they can meet big objectives. They are in high spirits and brimming with confidence and we must continue on this path and build up on it.
We’re on the right track but we have to turn our focus to the next game as the fixtures are coming thick and fast and there’s not much room for celebrations during the season”.
